  • Product Introduction

Aluminum-composite aluminized film–aluminum foil laminates are functional materials produced via a multi-layer lamination process. Their key advantage lies in the combination of aluminum foil’s superior barrier properties with the lightweight and cost-effective characteristics of aluminized film, making them widely used in thermal insulation and moisture-proof applications.

    Material Composition

A typical composite structure consists of a substrate layer, an aluminum-plated layer, an aluminum foil layer, and a functional coating. The substrate is usually a polyester (PET) film or a polypropylene (PP) film, providing basic mechanical support; the intermediate layer is a vacuum-aluminized film, which delivers lightweight thermal insulation and light-shielding properties; the core layer is a thin aluminum foil that enhances barrier performance against water vapor and gases; and some products also incorporate a flame-retardant coating or an adhesive layer to improve fire resistance and interlayer adhesion.

    Performance Features

High barrier properties: The dual action of aluminum foil and aluminized film effectively blocks moisture, oxygen, and odors, preventing the internal insulation material from becoming damp and deteriorating, thereby extending its service life.
Excellent thermal insulation: The aluminum coating reflects more than 80% of infrared heat, while the aluminum foil layer reduces heat conduction; when used in conjunction with thermal insulation materials, it can significantly enhance energy-saving performance.
Lightweighting and Strength: Compared with solid thick aluminum foil, the composite structure is lighter and thinner, while the substrate and the lamination process enhance the material’s tensile and tear resistance, making it less prone to damage during installation.
Functional Compatibility: Fire-retardant performance can be achieved by adding flame retardants (with some products meeting building-materials fire-retardancy standards), and the surface can also be treated for scratch resistance and weatherability to suit various environmental applications.

    Application Fields

Building thermal insulation: Primarily applied to the surfaces of thermal insulation materials such as glass wool, rock wool, and rubber-plastic composites, it is used for thermal insulation and moisture resistance in building walls, roofs, and suspended ceilings, and is particularly well suited for applications with weight constraints.
Pipeline insulation: As an external protective layer for air-conditioning ductwork, chilled and hot water piping, and industrial pipelines, it prevents condensation while isolating the system from external moisture and heat.
